At Intertraffic 2014 in Amsterdam, Nedap will introduce the next generation of its wireless parking sensor system SENSIT. Dutch technology company Nedap is continuously investing in further strengthening the market leading position of the SENSIT sensor hardware, wireless communication network and the administration software of the smart on-street parking solution. All innovations are a direct result of over eight years of experience in implementing sensor technology in challenging urban environments.
The new release of the SENSIT platform contains new versions of wireless parking sensors, communication repeaters, integration software as well as the addition of an administrative app. With the launch of SENSIT ‘2G’ Nedap is ready for a new era of wireless sensor networks for on-street parking solutions.
Nedap is developer and manufacturer of SENSIT. This technology consists of wireless parking sensors which detect in real-time whether or not a single parking bay is occupied and how long it has been occupied. SENSIT has proven to be the most accurate, reliable and robust parking sensors system world-wide. Nedap integrates its parking sensor platform with third party systems for parking guidance, traffic management, parking enforcement and payment facilities.
Nedap announces the launch of groundbreaking SENSIT ‘2G’ innovations:
NEW SENSIT Flush Mount sensor
The new sensor is designed to further enhance the performance in on-street parking applications. This sensor is durable and installed fully flush with the road surface. Reliable deployment in snowy and frosty weather conditions is achieved due to the resistance to snow ploughs. New sensor enables highly accurate sensing and reliable communication performance unmatched in the industry even in the most difficult city circumstances and all weather conditions, even snow and frost. The sensor is durable, can withstand a heavy traffic load, and is less susceptible to interference from power cable energy surges and other electrical sources.
NEW SENSIT Relay Node
The SENSIT Relay Node optimizes data communication in city environments. The new design, SENSIT Relay Node has an expanded communication range. With the optional screen, the RF communication field can be aimed in e certain direction as well. The ‘2G’ repeater ensures a faster and more robust communication network. Less nodes are used to build up the network. The SENSIT Relay Node operates wirelessly. Long lasting maintenance free operation is realized using improved and fully replaceable batteries.
NEW SENSIT Integration Software
The newest version (1.4) of the software for easy integration and basic administration of SENSIT will be released at Intertraffic. with the new software allows for more flexible, scalable and easy integration with third party systems. The software has a completely new user interface, developed to ensure fast deployment and easy setup of large scale sensor networks. Absolutely unique is the SENSIT performance dashboard using ‘widgets’ to inform system administrators in one single overview about the status of all components in the wireless sensor network. This greatly reduces the time and energy needed to administer and manage the system.
NEW Free SENSIT Park app
Nedap is the first wireless parking sensor provider to launch a smartphone app for the administrators of the wireless parking detection system. The app provides a clear overview of the real-time status of everything that is happening on SENSIT platform. Bay occupancy, sensor status, overstay violations and parking violations can easily be monitored. The app is available for Apple and Android mobile devices and is free of charge.
