March Highlights

During March our excitement grew as we prepared for Intertraffic Amsterdam 2022! In the run-up, we gave our network a taster of what they could expect at the tradeshow with a very special edition of our Parking Network Virtual Conference. Then, at the event itself, we hosted a three-day Parking Network Symposium and an anniversary party to celebrate 25 years of Parking Network. Whilst, Intertraffic was certainly the highlight of the month, there was plenty else happening in the parking industry worldwide.

Back to Basics: ANPR

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is a term often bandied around but have you ever wondered what it actually is and what it can be used for?  ANPR is a technology that reads vehicle registration plates to create location data. Information is usually captured by scanners or cameras then cross-referenced for a range of traffic and law enforcement purposes. At a basic level, the image of a license plate is converted into machine-encoded text, otherwise known as optical character recognition.
